Privacy

Vuxsy stores the information needed to run a classified ads service: your account (name, email address and password hash), the ads you post, messages sent through the enquiry form, saved ads and basic security logs.

Your email address is never shown on your ads. When someone sends you a message, it is emailed to you with the sender’s address as the reply-to address. Your address is only shared if you reply.

Your phone number is shown only if you choose to, and only when someone taps “Show phone number”. These views are rate limited and logged.

Only your first name, the town or county you choose and the date you joined are shown publicly. Location data embedded in photos is removed when they are uploaded.

We store keyed hashes of IP addresses, not the addresses themselves, to prevent abuse.

Each ad shows how many times it has been viewed. To count a visit once a day per visitor, the site sets a first-party cookie (vx_vid) holding a random identifier; only a keyed hash of it is kept, for 48 hours, and it is never combined with anything else. Signed-in visitors are counted by their account instead; without cookies, the keyed hash of the IP address is used for that request. No third-party analytics are used.

You can delete your account and all your ads at any time from Your account. Contact us to request a copy of your data.
